HISTORY
Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK greatly emphasized the importance of education upon the founding of the Turkish Republic. Within this framework, Atatürk requested and guided the establishment of the Turkish Education Association in 1928 for the sake of promoting qualified Turkish schools. ?smet ?nönü, who later became the second president of Turkey, was the first chairman of the Turkish Education Association (TED). The school's emblem reflects the history of its founding with the crescent moon from the national flag, the torch as a symbol of education embraced by the association and five stars to show gratitude and respect to the five original administrative committee members. TED Ankara College was the first school established by the Foundation in 1930 and the first private Turkish school using English as the medium of instruction. In 1963 the school's administration was placed under the TED Ankara College Foundation. Today TED Ankara College is a continually developing family with more than 5,500 students, 530 teachers, 230 employees and 26,000 alumni. TED ANKARA COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOOLS INCEK CAMPUS TED Ankara College Foundation Incek Campus is an education facility model that not only in Turkey but also abroad for its student capacity and facilities. With its contemporary education site with 141.000 m2 of enclosed areas and over 309.000 m2 of open area, this facility provides the best education environment for its students, helps the new generations to improve their imagination, creativity and makes life and learning more enjoyable.
The Campus is located east of Tasp?nar village on Yumrubel in Incek, which is in the south part of the the capital city, Ankara. The classrooms form the clusters, clusters form the class groups, and class groups lead to the formation of schools. In this formation all features have been planned to keep up with the pace of the contemporary education. The premises of the new campus can accomodate altogether 6000 people. School sections consist of; • Kindergarten with a capacity of 450 students • Primary school for grades 1-5 with a capacity of 2050 students • Primary school for grades 6-8 with a capacity of 1800 students • High school with a capacity of 1920 students including 120 prep-grade students.
